Rogue:

First I would like to make it clear that I am not attempting to open lines of communication. I do not expect that this will change anything between us, and I do not expect a response. I would simply like to offer some words that may be some comfort. You, as always, are free to take or reject them as you see fit.

You are an exceptional young lady possessed of remarkable strength and perseverance. Your compassion, despite all the hardship you have faced, is admirable.

I deeply regret the things that have been done to you. Regardless of whether or not it is my future, it is your past. And because of it, I will not have the opportunity to know you better. Selfishly, I do hope that it is not my future, as it would mean becoming the kind of man who could do such things to you. A deeply troubling prospect.

I will not contact you again, and if events conspire so that it is in the best interest of the mutants on the station to work together, I will take the necessary measures to ensure that you will not have to speak with me directly.
