Ten years or one month ago, depending on the observed timeline, he was significantly more tolerable. [ Also, Severus's friend. No. I'm a wizard, we do not engage in those practices, and DNA has no bearing on my people that way. But I did want to let you know in the event it mattered to you, given what Charles's academic focuses were.

None taken. I'm the xenobiology half; I work with supernatural elements.

Genuinely, I don't know. I do work with individuals who have difficult times dealing with the uncontrollable elements of their identities, but it's quite different. I wouldn't be opposed to looking into it, though, if you ever wanted to explore alternatives.

You frame it as a control problem. I teach magic users, which is all about instinct and control over powerful innate forces. There's a possibility of overlap of methodology, though obviously, we'd have to approach it uniquely.

I probably can make something that you could apply to your skin as a temporary barrier, but I can't imagine that'd be a comfortable or very effective option.

[ Severus has to stop and look at that message for a moment. He can imagine how horrific her ability must be, in terms of isolation - even someone as unsocial as he is aware of just how damaging that is. But he really isn't kidding about something like that being a.) temporary b.) uncomfortable c.) ineffective.

On the other hand, working with her to make it would give him a chance to talk to her and investigate more about the power she wields. So. ]

[She answers back almost immediately. The idea of downsides right now haven't even occured to her, despite what Severus has warned. Or the fact that she won't be able to take it back with her, either. But anything that would allow her some form of physical contact with someone without killing them. She'd give anything for it.]
